High Contrast Black Walnut

The newest addition to our website is High Contrast Black Walnut whereby a mixture of the tree's "Sap Wood" and "Heart Wood" are used in the making of bowls, boards, and serving pieces. The "Sap Wood" is essentially the outside of the tree, while the "Heart Wood" is more interior wood. Normally only "Heart Wood" is used in the production of black walnut bowls, and the "Sap Wood" is discarded, but we found a way to use both, thereby producing pieces that utilize more of each harvested tree.
